Learning At Our School
Academic Program
Our school offers a wide range of courses in the core subjects. All students also complete four compulsory religion credits. Students are offered a rich variety of occupation related experiences which include co-op placements and O.Y.A.P. apprenticeship opportunities.
Our Hospitality program prepares many to pursue tourist industry careers and our articulation agreement with Canadore College allows them to earn college credits before leaving high school.
We are proud of the fact that our Gr. 10 Reading & Writing results are in the pass range. Students can earn Bilingual Certificates if they complete a French program. they can also receive business certificates for completing a certain range and variety of business courses.
Co-Curricular Program
We continue to offer a full range of sports, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, Badminton, Soccer, and Archery for both Boys and Girls. Our Drama and Music programs are rich and varied. Our clubs include, Math, Chess, and Astronomy. Our Liturgy committee prepares the music and readings for our many masses.
School Events
We punctuate the academic year with liturgies, dances, snow games, unplugged concerts, rock fests, and an East/West hockey game, where all of the secondary schools in the city come together to cheer on both male and female participants. In the spring, we feature our arts community in an event called Insights and Sounds.
